5 Facts About Us...

1 . We never compromise on the ethics and principles of Martial Arts. Whether you are training as an individual or with family members, you can be assured that you will be benefiting from over 43 years of teaching experience. This is one of the reasons we always offer free trial classes, to allow you to experience for yourself the ways in which the values and benefits of Martial Arts will improve your life. Coupled with our fantastic curriculum, which will help you progress from beginner to advanced student, we are confident in our ability to help you reach the goal of Black Belt.

2 . Here at John Turners Black Belt Academy we understand the challenge in choosing a Martial Arts school. Therefore, when you first visit our Academy, we give you the choice of having a private one-on-one introductory class (with a male or female instructor) or taking part in a beginner class, completely free of charge.

5 Essential Things To Ask Before Taking Up Martial Arts

1. What are my, or my child’s, goals and objectives for starting martial arts?
To get tough? To defeat a bully? Maybe to gain confidence?
Correct Martial Arts will teach self discipline, which leads to increased self confidence, leading to better self control, therefore leading to self achievement– resulting in hitting goals!

2. What commitment am I willing to make?
Martial Arts is a dedicated and rewarding way of life. Are you willing to commit to regular training, to set goals and believe in yourself? Can you agree to the Code of Conduct of a Martial Arts school that has values and good moral grounding. There are many Martial Arts schools and clubs in operation today, but not all have the same values, often omitting any moral or philosophical basis underlying their instruction. No responsible Martial Arts teacher should train students without making certain that the students have the proper moral grounding to know when it is appropriate to use the training they are receiving.

We are so pleased we brought them to John Turners Black Belt Academy. Thank you again.

Both myself and my husband are impressed with the service we all receive from walking through the door to departing. To be greeted by any member of staff and be acknowledged on a first name basis, be it us or our boys, means a lot. Master Turner is a true wonder and a pleasure to watch, and his dedication and training can be seen throughout the belts…

Darren and Olivia Bradley

I joined John Turners Black Belt Academy along with my 7 year old daughter to build her confidence and self-esteem. I can honestly say that it was the best decision I have made and haven’t looked back. On our first session, I was promised that I would see a difference in Olivia within one month of training and can honestly say that they kept their word. She is so much more confident in everything she does.

Good martial arts is all about respect, and accordingly John Turner’s Black Belt Academy training regimen supports a highly structured and disciplined training environment, in which everyone, staff and students alike, without exception, are all really nice people with a shared goal – achieving their black belt.
